Our prison had no walls.
We were unwilling to follow.
No one was forcing us.
Our heads high and proud,
we walked toward our
fate
destiny
future
leaving unpleasant years
back a ways
with all our fears.
Refusing to submit.
Choosing who we think would fit.
Accepting no suggestions.
We destroyed our prison.
It fell.
A silent victory.
We were our own Saviors.
And in the end,
we kept on doing
what we'd done inside that prison.
We knew no other way.
Save the change for another day.
